My freelance web design service is best suited to small businesses, groups or individuals who need a relatively low cost website which meets their marketing objectives. I have been designing and building websites and web collateral for about 8 years, meaning I’ve got a good idea for what works and what doesn’t when it comes to web design.

Web design/ development (from £500-£3000)

Simple, yet impactful web design with your marketing objectives in mind. Your business website needs to work on a number of levels to make it a useful marketing tool,

  • It should attract new customers by being designed for maximum search engine visibility
  • It should give existing customers a reason to return, or useful information they may otherwise have to contact you for
  • It should convert visitors into customers by being easy to use and portraying your business in a way it deserves

Where possible I build site using a content management system which allows you to easily make changes to text and images, add extra pages, change prices or whatever you need to do to keep your site up to date without relying on a web developer to make the changes for you.

A typical web design project will cost from £500 and take from 4-8 weeks to complete depending on the amount of content and any technical work required such as online tools or applications. Contact me for a quote on your project and an estimated timescale for delivery. If you require website hosting I offer this at a flat rate of £200/ year (some exceptions may apply). Blog website design/ development (from £300-£1000)

Blogs can be a great addition to your existing website or act as a standalone site for your business.

I build blogs based (usually) on the WordPress blogging software. WordPress is probably the most popular choice for serious bloggers and its easy to use interface means you’ll be blogging in no time.

I can design a custom template to match your brand or to fit in with your existing site, depending on your exact requirements I should be able to have your blog ready in 3-4 weeks. I’ll also give you a crash course in successful business blogging with tips on search engine optimisation and social networking before handing over the site. If you require hosting for you blog I can provide this at a flat rate of £200/ year.

Social networks & communities (from £200- £1500)

For some businesses adding community features to your website is a great way to attract and retain customers and increase your brand recognition.

I offer a range of services in this area, from the setup and optimisation of your profile on existing social networks like Facebook or MySpace to the development of feature rich community websites which you can use to run your own social network.

There’s plenty of options in this area but social networking might not be the right choice for all businesses, get in touch if you would like some advice on the options which might be best for you. A snapshot of the types of services I can offer in this category:

  • Setup, design and promotion of social network pages or profiles on sites like Facebook, MySpace or Bebo.
  • Web forum design/ development
  • Full social networking sites based on Joomla or Buddypress.

HTML email design (from £200)

Branded email newsletters and ‘e-shots’ are becoming increasingly popular in internet marketing as they offer a low cost way to stay in touch with your existing customers and promote new products or services.

I can design a template or range of templates which you can use for your email marketing campaigns which will work  properly in all the common email clients (outlook, hotmail, gmail etc)

I also offer a full email marketing service where I can build your email lists, setup deliveries and report on the success of the campaign if you don’t have the internal resources or expertise to manage the campaign yourself.

Banner advert design (from £150-£300/ banner set)

If you want to advertise your website on other sites you may need a banner designed. A banner ad should grab attention and encourage people to click through to your website, therefore its important to test a number of different designs to see which variation is most effective at driving new business.

I can design a collection of banners for use as part of your online advertising campaign. This tends to be the type of design task which is left until the last minute in my experience so if you need some banners in a hurry get in touch, I can usual turn some designs around within 3 working days.
